Sweet baby Logan is such a dream. He slept and smiled the entire time and basically made all other babies in the history of the world look like whiners. I love him. I can't wait to see what sort of mischief he and big brother Gabriel will get in to. Here are some of my favorites from our time together.
Chandler is four and Elliot is two and they are so awesome right now. I almost never bother to get my real camera out to take their photos because its big and not put together and I usually only have a second to capture a moment, so I snap it with my phone and move on. Yesterday I had a hankering for some real photos of my boys. Elliot was taking and long nap and so this happened. Thank you for ignoring the random piles on my dresser and the photo wall that so far only has one photo up. Give me a break, we've only been in this house for 2 years.
Kaori and Hiro are expecting their first baby in July. We got together on Mother's Day at Hiro's grandparents' house in beautiful Lafayette, where they got married on the lawn just under a year ago. These two are so real and kind and will no doubt be incredible parents. I can't wait to meet the little nugget! You can see their wedding portraits in Point Reyes here.
My appreciation for Davis is ever-growing. My big brother was (is?) an Aggie and when we came to visit him in college it smelled like cows and like the good Bay Area tween that I was, I turned my nose up at it. Then the very first college acceptance letter I received was from UCD, and I was so relieved to be going to college that my heart warmed a bit towards this charming cow town. Fast forward 10 years to when Ross and I moved to Sacramento and explored the area as grown ups. Davis topped my list of areas to live. It is quaint, and green, and environmentally conscious (and it has a Woodstocks!). Turns out, I'm not the only one who would choose to live there and the housing prices are crazy. Last weekend I met this adorable family at the UC Davis Arboretum. They both earned undergrad and graduate degrees at Davis and are still living the Davis dream, riding bikes instead of driving, and raising a precious family while hopefully indulging in Woodstocks pizza every now and then. They only furthered my appreciation for Davis and the wonderful people who live there. Here is a snippet of our evening together.
When I walked into the home of sweet baby Cary and his parents, I was blown away by how cool it was. I shouldn't have been surprised; They have always been stylish. Felix wore fancy socks that coordinated with his tie before it was a thing, and Haruka is always polished and put together, even two weeks postpartum. Our time together was easy and fun and made me extra grateful for this incredible job I have and the kind people I have met in Sacramento.
This sweet group got rescheduled due to rain, and so when the forecast showed rain again for the new session time, we decided to risk getting a little wet and went for it. The rain held off most of the session, until the very end! The blanket served as excellent shelter and means to play peek a boo! I can't wait to meet the new addition to this incredible family.
